I miss "switching" people

I've been asked for the umpteenth time why I am NOT "switching" this holiday.

For the past 3 years, I've always been working part time at this work place during the semester break holiday. I guess all my friends and family are so accustom to my routine that they would assume I will be working at the same place this holiday. Ironically this holiday, I am not following the norm. I've decided to stay home, and spend more time with my family (my mom and grandma in particular).

I've always enjoy working at the place. It has become my second home every time I am back to Penang for holiday because of the amount of time I would spend there. I've made so many valuable friendships there, learned so much and discovered something I didn't know I could do 3 years ago before I join the company.

Truthfully speaking, I really, really miss working there. I miss interacting with customers from all walks of life. I miss the time helping customers "switch" easily. I miss touching and testing out all the gadgets available in the shop. I miss the early morning gathering/training session with my colleagues. I miss receiving salary which I could use to spend lavishly on myself.

But for all that I am missing right now, I know spending more time with my family is much more important and valuable that is beyond comparison to the amount of money I will be earning if I were to work instead.

So at the meantime, while spending more time at home, I am working on a few personal projects and hopefully I will be able to launch it by January 2010 (which is in a few more days).

Wish me luck! :D

A Smile For Every Moment

I just realize i have not update the blog with assignments from my previous semester.

So here it is, I am gonna share with you the first project that my group members and I presented to a whole group of special guest who are prominent people from local motion graphics / advertising industry. (*Remember my previous post, 29 hours to go... where I wrote about how anxious, nervous and excited I was for my first presentation of the semester)

For this project, I've team up with under18carbon and pop to form Lucid. Teaming up with both of them is indeed a blessing. Working together on the project has been indeed fun and I really really miss pop's jokes session!

For this project, we are required to rebrand any "Buatan Malaysia" (Malaysian Products) products of our own choice. After a few meetings and discussions, the group finally decide to brand Cupcake Chic because of many reason and the potential for cupcakes to grow among local consumers. Based on our interview with the co-founder of Cupcake Chic and based on our market research on the products, 3 of us came out with a branding solution and a TVC (television commercial).

So here it is :

Money-less

Sigh. I am money-less this holiday since I am not planning to work :( And this is not a good news for a gadget freak like me - especially when it comes to PHOTOGRAPHY!

Photography is indeed an expensive hobby and I am currently having a photography fever with a new lomo flu.

There're just so many things the "gadget freak" wanna get.... Currently she's in between 2 lomo cameras,

Fujifilm Instax Mini 7 (White edition)

Price at: around RM280 for the white edition (limited edition).

I've always wanted a Polaroid camera and since it has been discontinued, this little white fellow here is the perfect replacement. Maintenance is quite a expensive since each film cartridge cost Rm23.50 for 10 exposures. Expensive, but it is gonna be so fun to have each precious moments captured and printed on a credit card size film!

or

a Nico Digi or a Minimo (both are digital lomo keychain camera)

Price: Rm300 (together with 4 filters + delivery)

Price: RM313 (including 4 wonderlens + delivery)

These 2 mini cameras are quite a hit now in both Japan and Taiwan. And I've been eyeing this for quite a while already. It is perfect because of its small size that makes it portable and best of all, there's no need of films. Just plug and transfer to the computer. But the disadvantage, there's no lcd panel for preview. It has to be transfered to the computer for viewing.

If I only I can plant a tree that grows money...........I will buy all 3 :P ahhahaha
