Make her a Champion!

got this link from Facebook and decide that people (especially Malaysians) should start voting and help Nicol David to be Champion of Champions!

MALAYSIA BOLEH!

Nicol David is always a sportswomen that I idolize and admire a lot since I was just 10 years old! She has make the country proud and definitely a reputable Champion on and off court (since she do well is all her national exams - girl with a brain). So, wait no more , click on the image below and it will link you to the website to vote!

some trivia bout Nicol David that i can remember: -
  • the first squash player in history to win World Junior title twice (1999 and 2000)
  • youngest World Champion
  • won all age group British Open
  • won all title/competition she participate in this year!!
I just realize that she's the only female athlete left in this champion of champions thingy. So let's make NICOL DAVID a champion!

A long one

I know i should be blogging more frequently since i am on holiday now, but unfortunately, due to laziness and procrastination and a lot of family things to deal with I didn't really have much time for myself to do much stuff...

Anyway, I know you are waiting for my update about me so here goes....

Working and working and working......  yes that's what I have been up to lately. As usual, i am working part time selling apples.....

well i am sure you know where i am working at....

And i met a movie producer! a western movie producer currently residing in Thailand and organizing Thailand Film Festival. He wanted to get a mighty mouse and i told him the benefits of working with mighty mouse and i talked to him for quite a while and he ask me about my course of study because I know so much about video stuff that he's talking about. Then he gave me his name card and ask me to check out his stuff. (i have not check out his movie yet.... :P)

I went down to Ipoh - KL last weekend for my cousin brother's wedding.

that's me, happily receiving ang pows from the newly wed

Apart from that, it should also be a food hunting trip for both my brother and i (both of us are very much alike when it comes to food... both of us just love eating.) I'm supposed to watch my amount of food intake, but instead, I ate more than i should and end up with uneasy stomach for the first 2 days.

my FIRST meal taken during the trip:  dim sum at Ming Chu Restaurant, Ipoh

last meal for my trip : at Ong Kee's (bean sprout chicken rice) Restaurant

On Monday morning, bro and I decide to drop by Pavilion to buy JCO so he can bring it back for my future sis-in-law (how sweet). At JCO, we bought 4 dozen of JCO in total! yea! no kidding... 4 dozens of donuts!

then after buying 4 dozen, we were planning to get another dozen after we finish 1 dozen, but then later change our mind when I saw this shop....

MR BAOZ!!!!!

and i bought 2 dozens of Mr Baoz! MADNESS i know... but the baoz is really cute and I can't help it and bought 2 dozens to bring it back to Penang as souvenir.

They are not cheap (RM3 each), but well.. they didn't taste as bad. So far, I've tried the curry chicken, black pepper chicken and beef. It taste good to me. Maybe I should eat it while it is still hot so they will taste even better.

I didn't have much time to do any shopping as most of my time is spend on the road, driving here and there, and looking for relative that are lost in KL. I am not an expert in KL road (as i hardly drive) but with the help of a GPS device, I am far from being lost!! I became an 'expert' on road. Seriously.....

Although with little time, i manage to buy a new pair of shoes

yea. it is a Nike. I am not much of a Nike fan.... but it has an old-school and conversey look that's why i bought it

During my trip, i get to meet a few of my nephews and nieces. They start calling me Ah Yee (aunty) and that is when i began to feel super duper old.....

Aren't they cute?

that's all for now... i am too sleepy to continue this post

Twilight Review

the much awaited movie.... and finally I watched it with my best buddy!

So how was it?

Spoilers ahead, if you are planning to watch the movie, please stop reading and skip the rest of the post.

If my video production lecturer is watching this movie, or if he is sitting next to me, I would probably hearing him repeating his usual quote "Add in more scene between this and this". The story is too long to be translated into a movie, but still i think the whole production team can do a better job. The build up (beginning part) of the movie is too "choppy" and seriously in need of in between scenes. (Sorry,  this is what happens when you start study video production. Every tiny details become something that you pays attention too.. and there are certain parts during the movie, that i just stop following the movie, but only thinking about the camera angles, the settings, practically the mise-en-scne and the editing part. This is a disease - a cancerous sickness for video production student - me. So everytime that happens, I keep on telling myself, "concentrate on Edward and Bella, mise-en-scene later").

If I have not read the book, I would probably be lost. Of course there are many many parts that are not according directly to the book, like how Bella met Jacob, the part Bella told Edward that she knows what he is, why Bella did not have jelly feet after Edward carried her on his back and went for a sprint but instead there's a facial expression on her that she's enjoying the fun and thrill, how easily Bella escape from the hotel (despite so much attention was paid in the book to how protective Alice and Jesper was over Bella), why is Bella and Charlie eating out when Bella always cooks  for Charlie, Edward's room which has no space for a bed,

Another ONE THING that i would like to talk bout the movie, is the Malaysia's Censorship Board!! DAMN! they have to pick the first kiss scene between Edward and Bella and decide to censor it. And not just CUT, cut but cut it just too long and left the scene totally hanging! crapppy censorship! come on .. if u wanna censored the kissing scene so our other race is able to watch it in peace, please do it at a precise manner and not just cut it like that.

mise-en-scene, mise-en-scene ... i just can't not touch it. It is the costume. It is said that Alice will now allow the Cullens to wear their clothes more than twice, but why issit that Edward have to wear a few shirts/coats a few times? hmmmmmmmmm........(yea i notice.... "mise-en-scene" remember?) then there's the makeup.... jsut toooo much!

off all the bad things, of course there are the good things that i like about the movie. such as,

the SOUNDTRACK! The songs are just great, the right mood at the right scene and as well as Bella's lullaby.

the baseball scene: i have to give some credit to the baseball scene. Not my favourite scene from the book, but in the movie, its one of the best part in the whole movie besides the ballet studio fighting scene.

humour between bella and charlie. the part where Bella is going to intro Edward to him. oh btw, Charlie is far more handsome than the one I imagine! :D

eric is so funny!!! omg... i like him in the movie.. and not so much in the book as he's not really that outstanding in the book right? Overall, the casting is great!

Anyway, nothing beats the book! I still prefer the book. So don't watch, just read!

I'm BACK!

I AM BACK!

yeah! i am making a declaration that i am back in Penang. Anyone free to go out yam cha, movie, do call me ok.

I am sorry for this late update to my blog because for the last 2 weeks, I've been very very busy with my assignmentS and it is impossible for me to blog. I have been deprive of sleep for the last 2 weeks, and i look like a thirsty vampire now. Pale face and dark circle around my eyes.

I am back in Penang since last Saturday, and I've been indulging myself with a lot of Penang food as my housemates had accompanied me come back to Penang and i've been bringing them around for makan-makan (eating) session and visiting some places (still tired and have not really hibernate yet). I am not a really good tour guide, but i hope they enjoy themselves.

So what have I been doing lately??

The only interesting activity that i did lately apart from assignments is I went to try the in-line skating at Queensbay Mall with my housemates. And guess what, I've been skating along side mui mui chai (girls) and seow di di (boys). I suddenly feel old skating and sometimes feel young when i skate alongside them. mixture of emotion. You see... age is a sensitive issue for woman! LOL! Anyway, i got myself a bruised butt after falling a few times (around 3 times). I am not a good skater and i am not that bad in skating till that I fell down so many times and got myself a bruise. Seriously.... I think i am being a target of one young boy there who tried to make me fall. Not that i am being sensitive... if it is one time, i can still take it as an accident. If it is twice, then it is a coincident. When there's a third time, and a forth attempt to bump into me.....  and grab my arms, is it just purely accident, coincidence or is it intentional? And i've caught him looking my way a few times. Maybe checking me out? :P Not bad leh... i can attract a young teenage boy? So flattering! LOL! OK OK... I AM JUST JOKING!  Ok, back to my bruised butt. It is cause by the Nokia handphone that I put at my jeans back pocket. Every time i fall on my butt, i sort of sat on it and that has cause the bruise on my butt, and the handphone is still working just fine and the screen only got a few dead pixels now. It is indeed a miracle that it is still working and survived the crushing impact of my weight.

Anyway, I went to the beach today with my friends and while they are enjoying themselves with the crashing waves hitting the seashore, I was sitting at the beach myself reading Breaking Dawn (4th book for twilight saga) when suddenly a monkey came up to me. He sat beside me, and then later climb on my back. (will post up the picture later when i get it from my friend). I hate MONKEY, but Sha Sha (the name of the monkey) seems different from normal notorious monkeys at Botanical Gardens and Penang Hill. She's cute! After spending 1 week, 7 days, 168hours on animating a nerdy monkey, I think, maybe i am starting to like monkey... or maybe not... I think i still hate monkeys.

Ok.... time to catch a short sleep before i have to wake up in less than 5 hrs time to fetch my dad to hospital for a check up and then later go meet up with my housemates and bring them out to eat more good food before they leave to go back to KL in the evening.

I NEED A GOOD SLEEP!!!!!!

Hopefully tomorrow before i start my part time work.

One more

ONE more assignments and I am off for 2 months holiday!!!

Have just completed my 3d assignment last night... a very very tiring assignment but it is worth it. at least i am learning something new this semester, not the usual photoshop and illustrator work.

I am not really satisfied with my 3d as it looks kinda fake, but well... just to share it with you what i've been up to lately and why i have not post up my photohunt for last weekend yet. I will post it up tomorrow. but these pictures below can be considered as together right? it a piece of work done, with lots of lots of shapes and textures combined together.

Emo ranting

FInally I decide to spend some time off my assignment to edit the body text of my blog..... change the background and the text colour. now it looks better (to me). Hopefully you like it too!

as for today,

i am piss off with one of my lecturer and it turns me off on doing any of my assignment. i have no idea, why is it so hard for them to tell you what to edit in the first place? i showed him my video twice, and he ask me to edit the final part.. which i did as what i was told... then today, when i did my presentation, he ask me to add additional 1 scene!

WTH! he think we are some mechanical robot and that we have so much time at our own leisure to do only his work? i still have 2 more assignments to complete (3D modeling of the Putrajaya Mosque and 1minute animation to complete - which is not an easy task) and there he wants me to add in another new scene. Why can't he tell me that 1 month ago when i first show him my video? Why did he wait til this final 2nd week to tell me that?

Furthermore, I got my results slip for last semester and finally i took a good look at my results for last semester (Nope. i did not really know about my results before today). Depressing-lah my results... sigh. I feel that I do not deserve the B+ for my illustration..... I deserve more than that ... not that i am over confident about my own work, but then i really think that i deserve a better grade for my below drawings.... :(

sigh.... SAD........emo emo...

Photohunt : Blue

'blue' can describe so many things - calm, cool, breeze, wind, sky, freedom, sadness......

At the moment, i am feeling blue because of the assignment stress and pressure. The next 2 weeks is gonna be super hectic and i am gonna have very very little sleep (like 2 - 3 hours a day) for many many days.

Anyway...no matter what, let's not spread my blueness to you. Just enjoy my pictures below and have a great weekend!

a heritage building in Penang. Took this picture last month when I was in Penang. Inspired by a photographer I admire a lot who took a picture of this blue and white heritage building and won a local photography competition

By the end of the day, nothing beats a blue sky! It is always my favourite!
